Cutting Corners – Travel Insurance Providers

Posted by editor

In the UK, there are a huge number of incidents wherein travel insurance providers are cutting corners and the figures continue to rise. Cases of non-coverage and other incidents continue to grow but the blame is shared between insured and provider. Providers like all businesses are sometimes forced to cut corners, revising their exclusions on their policies without proper discussions with clients who end up on the losing side. Travelers on the other hand, fail to review properly their policies ending up disappointed with insufficient assistance in the event of accidents.
The move to get moderation or management by a government body is being opposed for the travel industry has long been a self-governing body. But with growing numbers of incidents makes the case strong for proper management and arbitration to protect long suffering consumers. The global economic slowdown, tends to bring out the best and worst of people and those who stick to time proven honest practices are sometimes the ones who end up on the losing side. Rising costs of doing business taxes on earnings leaving minimal profits if any causing them to close doors. Travel may be a part of our lives as our pressure release valves but getting the protection we need when we do travel is indeed getting harder by the day.
